Smashing this years Goodreads goal and burning through ARCs. Here’s what I’ve been reading this year…
Well here we are in 2020 and already I failed to do a monthly reading wrap-up. Are we surprised? I think not. My inconsistency in all things is to be expected by now.
Instead today I’m covering both January and February, I’ve gone a different direction this time and shared my star ratings! Is this because I’m too lazy to take individual images and have just screenshot my GoodReads list? I admit nothing.
Aaaanyway, I’m off to a good start this year. My GoodReads challenge is set to 75 and I’ll revisit mid year with the possibility of increasing to 100, but for now I’m being chill about it.
As I write this my Netgalley score is at 81% as well it should be since I’ve read 14 ARCs in the past two months! I won’t be elaborating on them all since some have reviews scheduled later in the year- be sure to come back and discover them.

Hello friends! Third reading wrap up this year, might it actually become a habit? Naaahh probably not.
It’s been a busy month. My grandparents visited for four weeks, they live in America so we only see them here in England once a year at most. I’ve managed to get myself back to work for the last two weeks so between that I’ve been out for family dinners, Easter celebrations and the like.
Whatever abdominal pain kept me off sick for almost 9 weeks mysteriously vanished. two weeks ago. After several blood tests, an endoscopy and an ultrasound the doctors decided this week- ‘Well, you’re better now so we’ll stop investigating and just hope it doesn’t come back’. Great huh? They eliminated all the usual suspects and dangerous conditions and pretty much told me they hadn’t found a diagnosis and it was common not to know the cause of abdominal pain. So. Fingers crossed it’s gone forever and if it does return there will be hell to pay for the NHS.
This gave me a two week head start on my reading goals for the month before I skipped back to full time work. You can expect me to drop back to my usual 7 or 8 books per month from here on. The upside of all this downtime is I’m confident in reaching my Goods Reads goal for the year:
57/100. Awesome right? So in April I managed 19 books, here’s a bit about them...

It’s been another full reading month for me! I’m still not back to work, hopefully the camera going into my stomach this week will find out why. In the mean time I am DEVOURING my TBR. For the first time in forever I am below 300 at only(!) 280 books to be read.
As always it’s a mixed bag, I traversed fantasy, horror, crime, suspense and dystopia genres in March, here’s a little bit about them…
