October Wrap-up & Book Haul

Two consecutive wrap-ups? I’m as surprised as you are! Here’s what I got up to last month..

October is my FAVOURITE month of the year. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not huge on Halloween as a holiday. I don’t decorate the house, I’m allergic to raw pumpkin and my years of stumbling home drunk in a slutty witch costume are long dead.
No, I love October for the scary vibes! The colder days and darker nights are perfect for reading and watching all the new horror releases.

I signed myself up for 3 different readathons last month. A ridiculous idea really, trying to choose between books, movies or television was painful- as were my readathon results, check back later this week to see how I did.

Books read:

The Shuddering
Hark The Herald Angels Scream Anthology
The Haunting Of Hill House
The Exorcist
OtherEarth
Halloween Party
Horrorstor

NetGalley Approvals:

Welcome To Dystopia – Gordon Van Gelder

Populace – A M Wilson

OtherEarth – Jason Segel & Kirsten Miller

eBook Purchases:

20181104_072737

With titles like these on my TBR you might be surprised I only managed 7 reads this month! Aside from The Exorcist landing me in a terrible reading slump there were a few other distractions…

Horror Movies watched:

The Nun 💀💀💀💀
Mandy 💀💀💀
Halloween original 💀💀
Halloween 2018 💀💀💀
Hold The Dark 💀💀💀

Television viewed:
The Haunting Of Hill House
Castle Rock
Fringe
Sharp Objects
The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina

ICYMI on the blog:

I was nominated for my second Sunshine Blogger Award AND rewarded a third to be posted in the near future along with my first Versatile Blogger Award. Thankyou to Hannah and Mani for these.

Last week I was honoured to be featured on Twitter’s blog of the day with @The_WriteReads and WHOA what a response! My viewer stats on that Thursday alone equated to my usual weekly average. #Blogoftheday is an incredibly supportive community and I urge any and all book bloggers to check it out.

I’m also thrilled to see my very first tag creation FRIENDS is making it’s way out into the blogosphere. If you haven’t given it a whirl yet consider yourself tagged!
The F.R.I.E.N.D.S Book Tag

And this my friends, is where I leave you.

If you’re in a hopping mood here are just a few of many posts I enjoyed from other Bloggers this month..

Still here?

Hit me up in the comments, have you read any of these books or watched these movies? What did you think?

  1. What a wonderfully large collection of books in October! Horror is definitely not my favourite genre of book or TV (I’m a huge wimp 😂) but I’m trying to get into it more. Which of your horror reads would you recommend? Ooh, a FRIENDS tag, that sounds super fun! I’ll definitely have to check that out. Great post!
